+ Roberto Rossi was born in Castel Del Piano 19 February 1972. He grew up in Seggiano, a Tuscan village immersed in an rural dimension. Here he had a vital, well-founded and constant association with the products of the earth and the olive trees, a tradition passed on from his grandparents and parents.
+ Even during his summer holidays, while still a student, Roberto entered the working reality of the restaurant. After completing school he continued his direct transversal approach, taking each of the various roles that constitute the restaurant experience: waiter, assistant cook, active partner and, finally, owner and chef.
Roberto long cherished, and finally realized, his dream to see the Seggiano olivastra olive oil, a prestigious quality product of ancient origin, recognized and promoted, while yet avoiding the compromises of the market.
+ At present Roberto's restaurant, "Silene," in the national and international gastronomic guides, guarantees quality attention in the choice of ingredients and passionate care in the processes of cooking and preparation of dishes.
His olivastra oil "Il silene" is amongst the Italian olive oils of the highest quality level and is to be found in the world's best restaurants.
